General Description.

 

The Programmable Modulation Waveform Generator Model PMG1 creates the required modulation waveforms as set out in IEC61993-2 paragraph 10.4 and IEC 62287 paragraph 10.4. It can perform the encoder requirement as set out in IEC61993-2 10.6.

 

The PMG1 is a conveniently sized add on for any good quality signal generator.  All menu entries are displayed on a 2 X 16 character LCD screen for easy visibility. Toggle switches have been limited to the power switch. Utilization of positive action high quality push switches is included in the design.

 

The PMG1 is field programmable and upgradeable.

 

Operation.

 

The operation is simplified to multiple choices. An AIS and DSC profile are uploaded to the PMG1 with transponder data to allow VDL simulation.

 

Automated PC API Operation.

 

Automated control is now standard using the RS232 presentation port on the PMG1. A simple string library is all that is required to control all facets of the PMG1.
